Mumbai June14 (UNI) Veteran filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt reacting to the firing incident at his office, today said he considered himself a free citizen of a free country, having the right to voice concerns on issues he felt necessary.
Earlier in the day, two unidentified youths had opened fire at the film makers Juhu office, with no serious injuries or casualties.
Bhatt pointed that he was never associated with any political party, but always spoke for the underprivileged people and their rights.'' I have my own style of life and nobody should be bothered with that,'' added Bhatt.
Appreciating prompt police action, he said, top police officials rushed to the spot within 15 minutes of the incident and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress in the investigation.
When asked about seeking security for himself, he told that the law agencies would decide accordingly.
Reacting to underworld gansgster, Ravi Pujari's allegations on television channel about his association with the underworld, Bhatt refuted the allegations and stated that he had nothing to do with underworld and till date nobody had issued him any type of threat.
Meanwhile, Joint Commissioner of Police Arup Patnaik(Crime) informed that police are investigating various angles of the attack to ascertain the real intension behind the firing.
Patnaik also informed that gangster Pujari's admission on television claiming responsibility for the attack would have to be probed further to find reasons behind the attack.
