Sonia on 'thanksgiving' tour of Rae Bareli

Lucknow, Jun 13: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will visit her parliamentary constituency of Rae Bareli later this week to thank the people for her landslide win.

This would be Sonia's maiden visit to Rae Bareli after the May 11 Lok Sabha byelection.

During her visit, she would thank the electorate for her landslide victory by a margin of over 4 lakh votes.

UP Congress chief spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said the AICC president would tour the constituency on June 17 and 18.

Rae Bareli bypoll was necessitated after Ms Gandhi stepped down as chairperson of the National Advisory Council and as Rae Bareli MP on March 23 over the office of profit controversy.
