Rs 30 crore cricket stadium in HP soon, says IPH minister
Shimla, June 13 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 30 crore for the construction of a cricket stadium at Kutasani, near here, and work on it will start soon, Irrigation and Public Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur today said.
Inaugurating the seven-day thirteen All India Maharaja Padam Singh Memorial Cricket Cup Tournament at Rohru in Shimla district today, he said the stadium would have all the modern facilities to promote the game.
Mr Thakur said the Virbhadra Singh government had increased the state sports budget from Rs. 1.50 crore to Rs. 8.50 crore and added that the Government has also enhanced the cash prize money from Rs one lakh to Rs five lakh to those sportsmen who win gold medals at national level events.
