Rajnath voices concern about China hobnobbing with Pakistan
New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) BJP President Rajnath Singh today expressed his party's concern about China striking a strategic understanding with Pakistan, an acknowledged hub of Pan-Islamic terror.
His concern was conveyed to a three-member delegation, led by Ambassador of People's Republic of China Zhen Qingdian, which called on him at his office in an effort to forge a better understanding between the two countries as well as strengthen party to party relationship between the Chinese Communist Party and the BJP.
He also expressed his concern about the strategic alliance between China and Bangladesh which had emerged as a centre of anti-India activities. There is no imminent external threat but still it had emerged as a focal point of anti-India activities. "I hope China will take note of BJP's concern", Mr Singh remarked.
Mr Singh told the visitors that it was senior BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee who broke the taboo by becoming the first Foreign Minister of the country to visit China in 1979 after the 1962 conflict and again in 2003 as Prime Minister to resolve the Sikkim issue.
The delegation, consisting of Mrs You Ningge and Mr Zhen Zhishan, congratulated Mr Singh on his assumption of the party's Presidentship and apprised their government's effort to build a better relationship between the large neighbours and the growing economic ties.
The Chinese Ambassador invited Mr Singh to visit China in the current year as it was celebrated as the India-China friendship year.
