Mexico's Borgetti to miss rest of group games
GOETTINGEN, Germany, June 13 (Reuters) Mexican striker Jared Borgetti will miss the rest of his country's World Cup Group D games, the team's doctor said.
Borgetti, who had to be replaced with a leg injury in Sunday's 3-1 World Cup victory over Iran, will certainly be out of action for eight to 10 days, team doctor Jose Luis Serrano told reporters.
''After evaluation this morning, he will not play any of the group games, but hopefully he will be back after then,'' he said.
''We have to evaluate the healing process closely because there's the risk that the injury becomes worse.'' The 32-year-old striker suffered a left-leg hamstring injury and now misses Mexico's meeting with Angola on Friday and their final group game against Portugal on June 21.
Borgetti is Mexico's all-time goalscorer with 38 goals in 76 appearances.
