MCX index closes 48.10 pts down at 2,186.53

Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 4,065.97 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,186.53 down by 48.10 points (-2.20 per cent).

The total trades registered were 64,878.

The MCX metal index closed at 2,289.56 down by 88.91 points (-3.88 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2,652.78 down by 35.13 points (-1.32 per cent), and MCX agri index closed at 1,617.26 down by 20.23 (-1.25 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 3,192.35 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 1,983.45 crore and MCX silver at Rs 1,208.89 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 43,342. The open interest for gold was 7,327 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,52,760 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 448.64 crore with 11,654 trades, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 12.38 crore with 480 trades and MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 126.17 crore with 1,698 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 116.73 crore with open interest of 2,66,200 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 28.63 crore with 1,108 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 25.44 crore with 1,453 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 19.09 crore with 549 trades.

MCX gold Aug-06 closed at Rs 8,886 down by Rs 259 (-2.91 per cent), Oct closed at Rs 9,038 down by Rs 253 (-2.80 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 9,246 down by Rs 141 (-1.52 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 16,110 down by Rs 860 (-5.34 per cent), Sept closed at Rs 16,558 down by Rs 835 (-5.04 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 17,055 down by Rs 817 (-4.79 per cent).
