Hearing on Chhota Ranjan's wife's bail plea adjourned to June 19
Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) The Special MCOCA court today adjourned till June 19, the hearing on bail application of Sujata Nikhalji, wife of underworld don Chhota Rajan, and others arrested on charges of demanding extortion money from a builder in November last year.
Ms Sujata and Prakash Nikhalji, elder brother of Chhota Rajan had moved a bail application, contending that their investigations had been completed and they were ready to cooperate with the investigation agency if released on bail.
Adjourning the hearing on bail application, MCOCA (Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act) court Judge Abhay Thipsay directed the prosecution to submit the cassette of which they have already submitted transcripts in the court on the next date of hearing.
Earlier, when defence advocate H H Ponda started his arguement on transcript, the court directed the prosecution to bring the cassettee and then adjourned the matter.
Sujata and five others were arrested by the crime branch for allegedly demanding Rs 18 lakh as extortion money from a noted builder at Chembur in the eastern suburbs.
