Guj HC issues notices to Health Dept for sealing a Gyn clinic

Ahmedabad, Jun 13 (UNI) Gujarat High Court today issued show cause notices to officials of Gujarat State Health Department (GSHD) and Gujarat State Appropriate Authority (STAA) in response to a harassment petition filed by a private gynaecologist practioner here today.

A single bench Judge B N Mehta in his notice has asked the district officials of GSHD and STAA why an action should not be taken against them for harassing Dr Suresh K Gosai who runs a private nursing home in the city.

Justice Mehta, uphelding the pleas of advocate P K Soni, who appeared for Dr Gosai, has asked the government officials to reply to the petition by June 16.

The clinic of Dr Gosai, located at Mansa village in Gandhinagar district, was raided by health officials two weeks ago. During the raids the health officials seized some medical documents, sealed his clinic and suspended his registration without hearing Dr Gosai.

When Dr Gosai approached the officials of STAA for redressal of his grievances, they too did not hear and gave proper response to him, following which he filed a writ petition against the erring officials in the High Court.
