Gir Park to close for 4 months for lions' mating period

Junagadh, Gujarat, Jun 13 (UNI) The Gir Forest and Safari park will be closed to visitors for four months from June 15 due to the mating period of Lions in the monsoon season.

Deputy Forest Conservator Officer of Sasan Gir P P Raval told UNI that in order to provide a conducive environment for mating to the lions, the forest department will close the entry of tourists for four-months from June 15.

The Gir Forest and Safari Park will re-open after October 15, Mr Raval added.
