Former State SP Chief quits party
Jamshedpur, Jun 13 (UNI) Former Jharkhand state president of the Samajwadi Party Banna Gupta, the founder member of non-political organisation Jharkhand Vikash Morcha(JVM), has resigned from the primary membership of the party.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Gupta said he had sent his resignation letter to the SP supremo and UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and said the prevailing political scenario in Jharkhand had compelled him to quit the party and join the JVM, led by former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP national vice-president Babulal Marandi.
He said as the JVM would convert into regional political outfit within two to three months, he did not want to embarrass the SP and decided to quit the party to strengthen the JVM.
Mr Gupta said the JVM would chalkout a stretegy to launch agitation against the 'wrong policies' of the Arjun Munda government in the state. He alleged that the Jharkhand government was involved in neck-up corruption and failed in all fronts.
He said the NDA government in the state shold resign immediately on the issue of office of profit as the state Governor had returned the Bill to the Cabinet.
Mr Gupta also demanded that the state government should slash the tax structure to cut down the price of petroleum products.
