Amar Singh announces Rs 10 lakh aid to Madrasa

Lucknow, June 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party general secretary and Uttar Pradesh Development Council (UPDC) chairman Amar Singh has announced Rs 10 lakh aid to 'Madrasa Noorul Uloom' from his Local Area Development Fund for the education of Muslim girls.

The Madrasa is situated in Jaidpur town of Barabanki district in UP.

The Rajya Sabha MP was addressing an 'All India Mushaira' in Jaidpur late last night.

Regretting the dismally low literacy rate among Muslim women, Mr Singh said the aid was aimed at providing quality education to girls till the intermediate level.
