Zahira guilty of perjury; faces 3 months RI

Mumbai, June 12 (UNI) Zahira Sheikh, prime witness in the Best Bakery case, was today convicted of perjury by a special court here.

Additional Sessions Court Judge Abhay Thipsay sentenced Zahira to three months' Rigorous Imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500, failing which, she will have to undergo another 10 days RI.

Judge Thipsay in his order today said Zahira will have to serve this term after the expiry of the current sentence given by the Supreme Court for contempt of court.

When told about the verdict and asked whether she wanted to say anything in her defence, Zahira responded in the negative.
