Zahira convicted of perjury; faces 3 months RI

Mumbai, June 12 (UNI) Zahira Sheikh, prime witness in the Best Bakery case, was today convicted for perjury by a special court here.

Additional Sessions Court Judge Abhay Thipsay sentenced Shaikh to three months RI and imposed a fine of Rs 500, failing which, she will have to undergo another 10-days RI.

Judge Thipsay in his brief order said, Zahira Shaikh will have to undergo this RI after the expiry of the current sentence given by the Supreme Court convicting her for filing false affidavit.
