Transporters protest hike in petroleum products
Imphal, June 12 (UNI) The transporters in Manipur today demonstrated against the hike in petrol and diesel prices.
Transporter union representatives staged a sit-in protest at Keishampat in Imphal, demanding a rollback of the proposed price hike.
Buses and trucks did not ply because of the agitation.
The Indo-Burma Road Bus Owners Welfare Association has also joined the agitation suspending service on Imphal Moreh sector on national highway no 39 resulting in disruption of Indo-Myanmar trade.
According to the transporters, the hike in diesel prices would increase the cost of transportation thereby further increasing the price of goods.
