New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) A first round exit from the French Open cost her a rung in the ladder and Sania Mirza is now placed 41st in the latest WTA Singles Rankings announced today.

Sania had a tough draw in the Roland Garros which pitted her against former champion and 10th seed Anastasia Myskina who beat the Indian 6-4, 6-1.

Sania now has 522.50 ranking points in her kitty.

Among her compatriots, Fed Cupper Shikha Uberoi (168) moved up 12 places to 165, while Ankita Bhambri (54.25) hangs on at 349.

Isha Lakhani (41.50), however, fell 32 notches to 401, while seasoned Rushmi Chakravarthi (34.75) slid two places to 442.

In the ATP Doubles Ranking, Davis Cup captain Leander Paes slipped two places to 15th, while his estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi moved up six notches to 24.

Leander and his Czech partner Martin Damm had crashed out of the French Open mens doubles with a straight-set loss in the first round.

Bhupathi owes his rise in the ladder to his show at Roland Garros where he and his Belgian team mate Xavier Malisse had reached the quarterfinals where Andrei Pavel of Romania and Germany's Alexander Waske beat them 2-6 6-2 6-1.
