Nat Conference on PR to focus on creation of State Panchayat budget

Bhubaneswar, Jun 12 (UNI) The two day National Conference of Council of Ministers of Panchayat Raj, scheduled to commence here on June 15, will deliberate on the creation of Panchayat budget in the state budget and preparation of 11th five year plan at the grass roots level.

Stating this to newspersons, Orissa's Panchayat Raj Minister Raghunath Mohanty said the theme of the conference would be the Peoples Planning status of the implementation of Panchayati Raj and Road Map ahead. The conference, he said, would be preceded by a meeting of the Chief Secretaries and Panchayat Secretaries of the states on June 13 and 14.

Mr Mohanty said the meeting and the conference of the Panchayat Raj Ministers would focus mainly on the progress of the Activity Mapping, release and utilisation of the 12th Finance Commission grant, Rural Business Hub, National Rural Health Mission, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Panchayat Mahila Shakti Abhijan, Yuva Shakti Abhijan and Jana Kerosene Pariyojana.

The Panchayat Minister said the Union Minister of state for Panchayat Raj will give his key note address while Orissa Governor Rameswar Thakur would give the veledictory address.

Mr Mohanty said so far 12 panchayat Raj Ministers from various states and union territories and 49 officials, including the Chief Secretaries and Panchayat Raj secretaries, besides officials from the Ministry of Panchayat Raj have already given their consent to attend the conference.
