Bandh against price hike begins on peaceful note
Itanagar, June 12 (UNI) The BJP sponsored 12-hour Capital Complex bandh against the UPA Government's petrol and diesel price hike began this morning on a peaceful note.
Most educational institutions, Central Government offices and business establishments within the capital complex remained closed.
However, the State Government offices and the state secretariat were functioning normally.
Few private and government vehicles were plying on the road with police escorts.
Police arrested two bandh supporters from Naharlogun for obstructing movement of vehicles, according to superintendent of police of Papum Pare district.
No untoward incidents have been reported so far, according to sources.
