Two dies as truck hits scooter in East Delhi

New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) Two persons died after the two wheeler on which they were travelling was hit by a truck in the Nand Nagri area of East Delhi this afternoon, police said.

The incident occured at 1230 hours at Gagan T point near a 'nallah' (drain) at Nand Nagri when a Tata 407 truck, laden with plastic products hit a two-wheeler on which 40-year-old Zafar Yub Khan and his relative Sarfaraz, residents of Jaffarabad in Seelampur were travelling.

The impact of the collision was so much that both the two wheeler and the truck fell into the 'Nallah'.

Both Zafar and Sarfaraz were rushed to the GTB hospital where they were declared brought dead on arrival.

A hunt is on for the driver and the helper of the truck who fled from the spot.
