Rs 12.10 lakh given to militancy victims in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 11: The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 12.10 lakh as ex-gratia to 15 militancy victim families, an official spokesman said today.

He said a screening committee in Kupwara, with District Magistrate Abdul Majeed Khanday in the chair, sanctioned Rs 12.10 lakh as ex-gratia to the 15 families.

Out of these, Rs seven lakh were given to families of seven people killed in various militancy related incidents, he added.

The spokesman said Rs 5.10 lakh were distributed among the eight people wounded in similar situation.
