Lahore, June 11 (UNI) Muttiah Muralitharan's match winning feat against England in the third Test at the Trent Bridge has been encouraging for Danish Kaneria as the Karachi-based leggie prepares to take over as Pakistan's main strike in injured Shoaib Akhtar's absence in the upcoming series with the Poms.

''I will try 101 per cent to step into Shoaib's shoes and lead our attack (in England),'' Kaneria said ahead of Pakistan's tour of England to play four Tests and five one-day matches.

The Karachi-based player, with 156 wickets from 36 Test appearances, is being seen as Pakistan's bowling mainstay in the Test series against England getting underway with the first match from July 13 at Lords.

''Warney took 40 wickets against England in the Ashes last year and Murali spun them out at Nottingham a few days ago so it shows me that their batsmen are not too comfortable against the top-class spinners,'' he was quoted as saying by 'The News'.

Although the bowler maintains he is still has to do a lot to match his illustrated peers.

''Murali and Warney are easily the best two spinners that ever lived and I want to prove that I can also be as good as them even though I still have a lot to learn. They are much more experienced than I am, but I will try my best to make things difficult for England as they did,'' he said.
