Hyderabad, June 11 (UNI) Lok Paritran, a political party founded by the students of Indian Institute of Technology (IITians), will establish its unit and organise a membership drive in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to newspersons, national political president of the party Tanmay Rajpurohit said, his party received good response from the people, particularly from youth, when it contested in seven seats in the recently held assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

The party was formed on November 18 last year at Jodhpur in Rajasthan and is registered with the Election Commision of India.

He said the main aim of the party was to provide a corruption free and transperant government for the people.

The party would launch its organisational structure in Maharastra and Karnataka soon, he added.

On reservation, he said instead of implementing the present reservation policy the government should reach out to the people in breadth and depth to ensure justice and equality.

The Treasurer of the party, Ajit Ashwalayan Shukla said the party was focussing on Goa and Delhi Assembly elections scheduled to be held in May next year and December 2008 respectively.

Mr Shukla said his party will protect the interests of the students.

In order to create awareness about the policies and ideology of the party among the public they will be organising a meeting here today.
