K'taka Dy.CM defends hike in bus fares

Davangere, June 11 (UNI) Defending the hike in bus fares, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today categorically ruled out a rollback.

Talking to reporters at Honalli, about 60 km from here, he said the state government had decided not to reduce the sales tax on petrol and diesel. The Union Government should decrease the fuel prices, instead of directing state governments to consider reducing the sales tax on it.

He informed that the state government had released Rs 150 crore for taking up road repair work.
