Jaya to lead stir against fuel price hike by AIADMK, allies

Chennai, June 11 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will lead protest demonstrations by her party and its allies here tomorrow demanding an immediate rollback of the recent hike in the prices of petrol and diesel effected by the Centre.

Ms Jayalalithaa would spearhead the agitation proposed across the country. The demonstration here would be held in front of Memorial Hall, for which police have given permission.

The AIADMK's alliance party leaders, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko and DPI General Secretary Thol Thirumavalvan would also participate in the stir along with Ms Jayalalithaa.

The protest demonstration would be jointly organised all over the country by the AIADMK and its allies including the MDMK, DPI, INTUC, Indian National League(INL), IUML and Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam in front of the Central and state government offices.

Former Assembly speaker K Kalimuthu, AIADMK treasurer Dindigul S Srinivasan, former Minister O Panneerselvam and senior leaders Visalakshi Nedunchezhiyan and Sulochana Sampath would lead the agitaion in Madurai, Kerala, Theni, Tiruvallur and Namakkal, respectively.

The party's Propaganda Secretary O S Manian would lead the agitation at Mumbai in Maharashtra, former Ministers E Madhusoodanan and Vijayalakshmi Palanisamy in Pondicherry and Bangalore, respectively, minority wing secretary E A Liaudhin Sait in Andhra Pradesh and MP and party whip K Malaisamy in Delhi.
