BJP to go it alone in the civic polls: Lakshman

Hyderabad, Jun 11 (UNI) With the TDP severing its ties with the BJP, the latter is gearing up to face the ensuing civic polls on its own strength.

Talking to reporters here today, party state general secretary K Lakshman said the party was making brisk arrangements to go it alone where the party has a proven vote base.

Mr Lakshman questioned the grounds of Congress-TRS alliance and alleged that the Congress was cheating the TRS by not passing the Telangana Statehood Bill in the Parliament. He expressed wonder at the continuity of the alliance despite apparent differences on key issues.

Calling all other parties ''opportunistic'' he urged the people to shun opportunistic politics. He alleged that the CPI (M) was siding with both TDP and Congress for gainig power.
