Two LeT terrorists sent to eight-day police remand
Ahmedabad, Jun 10 (UNI) Two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, who were arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Gujarat police yesterday, were today sent to eight-day police remand by the District Sessions court.
Two of the LeT men--Sheikh Umar Farooq Mohd Nooruddin and Vakil Ahmed Mohd Syed alias Tasoo Alia--were nabbed yesterday from their residences in the city. They were produced before Justice Pathak in court no seven this morning.
They were arrested by the police with the help of information provided by two other LeT men---Mohammad Ali Chandmia Chhipa and Feroze Abdul Latif Ghaswala--who had been arrested in Delhi last month and brought here on transfer warrant.
The four were part of a module which had plans to target the Somnath Temple, Kandla-Bhatinda oil pipeline, Sabarmati railway bridge and headquarters of the VHP and the RSS, said DIG (ATS) D G Vanzara.
