Seizure of statue unfortunate, says Scindia
Guna, MP, June 10 (UNI) Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia has described as 'unfortunate' seizure of the statue of noted journalist Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi by the local authorities in Mungaoli in this district on the eve of its unveiling.
''Police had recovered the statue two days ago on the pretext that the Madhya Pradesh government had not given formal approval for its installation,'' Mr Scindia, who was scheduled to unveil the statue, told reporters here yesterday.
He said late Vidyarthi not only belonged to Mungaoli, but was a leading journalist and freedom fighter of the country. He assured to ensure installation of the statue as early as possible.
Mr Scindia said the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme was not being implemented properly in Madhya Pradesh.
