Protest march against petrol price hike in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jun 10 (UNI) Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha West Bengal Pradesh Committee (SYSWBPC) held a protest march against the hike in petrol and diesel prices here today.

The march started from the party office and a demonstration was also organised at Rani Rasmani Avenue, where an Prime Minster Manmohan Singh was burnt in effigy.

The Committee has demanded that the petrol and diesel prices should not be hiked, agricultural land should not be acquired in the name of industrialisation and the closed factories should be opened before the acquisition of agricultural land.

Party chief Bijoy Upadhyay declared that a state-wide agitation would be organised on June 13.
