Grievance Committee charges government employees of disrupting work
Imphal, June 10 (UNI) The Manipur Public Grievances Committee has condemned the cease-work strike called by the state government employees for the last one and half month demanding pay hike.
The Joint Administrative Council(JAC), spearheading the agitation, is working with vested interest, the committe said.
The committe charged that five lakh youth were registered at the Employment Exchange.
''The demand of the employees should not be entertained as they do not work in their offices and want more pension benefits and allowances,'' the committee said.
The employees do not attend office in time and leave office early, it alleged.
''They should be terminated from services as 3 lakhs of striking employees were terminated in Tamil Nadu under the Instrument of Essential Services Act,'' it further observed.
Meanwhile, the JAC volunteers locked up various offices to intensify the stir.
The JAC said it would go ahead with the stir until their demands were met. Three leaders of the JAC had been arrested by the state government.
