Addressing a public meeting at Bhedu Mahadev in the district after inaugurating the Rs 40 lakh Block Development Office building, he said displaying the list of the people at panchayat offices would bring about transparency and efficiency in the functioning of the panchayats.

Mr Singh said 22,000 rural women would get employment in 11,000 new aganwadi kendras that the state government was opening soon, taking the number of the anganwadi kendras to 18,000.

The centres were also necessary to educate the rural people about the nutritional value necessary for the school children, he said, adding that 150 anganwadi centers would be opened in Bhedu Mahadev development block alone.
