St Lucia, June 10 (UNI) The contract controversy reared its head again in the Caribbean with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) accusing the board of ''acting in bad faith'' and failing to place the Retainer Contracts for the cricketers.

WIPA President and Chief Executive Officer Dinanath Ramnarine told the Trinidad Express that it was a ''disappointing development'' that the board did not place retainer contracts even after frequent reminders by the association.

He said the board had not taken any initiative and the players were ''most regrettably and unnecessarily' without any retainer contracts.

Mr Ramnarine also sought an answer from the Board for failing to provide the contracts and said he won't ''deal with the problem in any detail'' until he received the board's response.

He said it wasa great opportunity for the board ''honour commitments we had accepted in good faith...commitments that are yet to be realised to the players who are making commendable efforts on the field, as shown against Zimbabwe and now in the duel with India.'' UNI XC AY RL DS1130
