Azad prays for peace at Amarnath shrine
Amarnath Cave, Kashmir, June 10 : Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said Jammu and Kashmir has the proud distinction of being an abode of revered shrines that are thronged by people of all faith from across the country and abroad to get peace of mind and spiritual bliss.
Interacting with the pilgrims here this morning, Mr Azad said he was happy that people in large numbers come to the state to pay obeisance at various shrines to seek blessings and peace of mind.
He said he was delighted to see a large number of devotees pouring in for the yatra much before its formal commencement from tomorrow.
He asserted that the increased number of pilgrims will boost the economy of the state.
Referring to the arrangements made for smooth conduct of the yatra, the Chief Minister said Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, local administration, police and the security forces have always been doing a commendable job despite difficult climatic and topographic conditions to facilitate the pilgrims.
God has bestowed in valley of Kashmir with celestial, divine and captivating beauty and it is the desire of Kashmiris that maximum tourists including pilgrims continue to visit Kashmir round the year so that economy of Jammu and Kashmir is strengthened, he said.
Expressing hope that high traditions of hospitality of Kashmir shall be maintained, he said nobody will be allowed to cause any inconvenience to any visiting tourists as they are our revered guests.
The Chief Minister took stock of the arrangements made for the pilgrims and was apprised about details thereof by Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Dr Arun Kumar.
Mr Azad also wished for peace and prosperity in the state on the occasion.
