Army denys allegation of mosque sacrilege in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 10 (UNI) A defence ministry spokesman denied the allegation of a mosque sacrilege in north Kashmir by troops.

He said the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara and senior police officials visited the mosque and called the allegations baseless.

The spokesman said the students of the area took to streets after some rumours spread about the sacrilege of a mosque.

The added a number of army and police personnel were injured after a violent mob attacked an army camp, forcing troops to take action.
