AP govt slashes sales tax on petrol and diesel
Hyderabad, Jun 10 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today slashed the commercial taxes on petrol from 34 per cent to 33 per cent and 23 per cent to 22.25 per cent on diesel, facilitating reduction of 40 paise on petrol and 22 paise on diesel per litre.
The decision to reduce the sales tax, which would provide relief to the people and an additional burden of Rs 135 crore to the state exchequer was taken by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy after a review meeting held with the officials of the State Finance and Commercial departments.
With this decision, diesel would cost less in Andhra Pradesh compared to neighbouring Maharastra, an official release said.
