Wanted criminal shot dead in South Delhi

New Delhi, June 9 : The city police shot dead a wanted criminal near Vasant Vihar area of South Delhi late last night.

Mukesh, a resident of Gurgaon, wanted by Haryana Police in over 30 cases of murder and extortion, was killed in an encounter with Special Cell of the Delhi Police near Jawaharlal Nehru University around midnight last night.

Acting on a tip-off, police waited for him when he was spotted in a car. An encounter followed after the notorious criminal failed to heed to the police's call to give up.

A foreign-made pistol was recovered from him.
