Transport Mahasangh will protest against high fuel prices

Mumbai, June 9 (UNI) The Maharashtra Rajya Truck Tempo Tankers Bus Vahatuk Mahasangh (MRTTTBVM) will stage protests against hike in petrol-diesel prices on June 13.

The Mahasangh will also protest against the state government's levy of Sales Tax which is the highest on diesel, in the entire country, an official release issued here today said.

The Mahasangh has demanded bringing petrol-diesel under the purview of a uniform value added tax across the country.

It also demanded that the Centre as well as State Government rationalise the plethora of levies on High Speed Diesel (HSD) and ensure greater accuracy in the information provided to the people at large, the release added.
