Three-day Sindhu festival from Monday, Ambika Soni to attend

Srinagar, June 9 (UNI) The Three-day Sindhu-Ladakh Singhe Khababs festival will be held at Sindhu Ghat, 10 Km away from Leh town, from Monday, an official spokesman said.

He said Union Minister Mrs Ambika Soni will be chief guest at this year's festival, which will also be attended by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and devotees from different parts of the country.

He said a high level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Leh M K Dwivedi discussed arrangments for the festival.

The meeting discussed in detail various cultural gala shows to be presented on the occasion.

Cultural programmes of different ethnic groups of Ladakh besides, Kashmiri, Dogri and Bharat Natyam would be presented during the festival.

The Deputy Commissioner, impressed upon all the committee heads to redouble their efforts to make full arrangements for the success of the festival.

The inaugural function would be held at Sindhu Ghat 10 Km away from Leh town. Members of different religious organisations would also perform a prayer meet at the inauguration.

Other features of the programme would be a Polo match, Ladakh Craft show, Ladakh food show and Photo Exhibition.
