New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) India today came out in support of the Kashmiri leaders from Gilgit and Baltistan who were reportedly harassed by Pakistani intelligence agencies for participating in a seminar here recently, and said Islamabad was selective in the free movement of people across the Line of Control.

''Such travel and seminars are essential for building trust and confidence between the two countries,'' a spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said.

''It is surprising that while Pakistan wants the free movement of people across the Line of Control, apparently it only wants it selectively,'' he said.

The spokesman said it was important that the views of all regions of Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit and Baltistan, should be taken into account.
