NDC panel on Panchayati Raj to meet on June 12

New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) The Empowered Sub-Committee of the National Development Council on Financial and Administrative Empowerment of Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRIs) will meet here on June 12 with four Union Ministers,Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commiossion and Chief Ministers of eight states likely to attend.

The Union Ministers who are the Committee memers are those of the Panchayati Raj, Finance, Social Justice and Empowerment and Tribal Affairs. The Chief Ministers are from Asom, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan.

The Committee will discuss, among other things activity mapping, ,formation of District Planning Committees, transfer of funds to panchayats without delay, and creation of a panchayat window in central government ministries, an official release stated.
