Income Tax dept denies notice to Big B

New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) The Income Tax department of Bombay today clarified that it has not issued any notice to matinee idol Amitabh Bachchan regarding purchase of sun glasses, valued at Rs 2.70 lakh, in New York.

The department denied media reports in this regard saying that no such notice has been served to Mr Bachchan on this issue.

''In certain sections of the media, it has been reported that the Income Tax department has issued a notice with regard to media reports that Mr Bachchan purchased sun glasses in New York valued at Rs 2.70 lakh. It is hereby clarified that the department has not issued any such notice,'' press note available said here.
