Gang of Bangladeshi robbers busted
New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) The Delhi Police today busted a gang of Bangladeshi robbers with the arrest of four of its members, wanted in sensational cases of dacoities recently reported in Delhi and adjoining areas.
The four gangsters were arrested on the Link road at Ghaziabad just as they were planning to commit a dacoity in the nearby area.
During the raid, one of the gansters fired at the police party but eventually all four of them were arrested after a brief encounter.
Two country made pistols, four live cartridges and two buttoned knives were seized from their possession.
Hailing from Bagirhutt district in Bangladesh, the four -- Ibrahim, Dholu, Julahs and Jahangir -- were involved in several robberies and burglaries in East Delhi and Ghaziabad.
They have a well organised system of 'border operators' who helped them in the disposal of stolen property, provided money in time of need and even helped them in crossing the Bangladesh-India border, police said.
