Foreign reserves increase to USD 64.529 bn
Mumbai, June 9 (UNI) The foreign exchange reserves of the Reserve Bank of India for this week increased by US 1.60 billion dollars to touch USD 164.529 billion as on June 2, noted a weekly statistical report of RBI.
The foreign currency assets were at USD 56.738 billion, whereas USD 78 billion have been included as reserves in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) keeping with the international best practice.
The total food credit as on May 26 by RBI stood at Rs 588 crore and the non-food credit was at Rs 4,896 crore.
Loans and advances to the state government as on June 3 were to the tune of Rs 183 crore, the weekly report stated.
