Day mercury rises in regions of SW monsoon

Pune, June 9 (UNI) In the regions where the South West monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and were below normal in West Uttar Pradesh and North West Rajasthan.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in East Uttar Pradesh and were below normal in some parts of East Madhya Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Jharkhand, Bihar and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim and coastal Karnataka and at few places in Orissa, East Uttar Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa and Kerala and at isolated places in West Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat State.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Bihar.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Konkan and Goa and coastal Karnataka and at isolated places in Orissa, East Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Tamil Nadu and South interior Karnataka.
