Bush says Zarqawi death won't end war but will help
CAMP DAVID, Md, June 9 (Reuters) US President George W Bush today said the killing of al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, will not end the Iraq war or the violence but will ''help a lot.'' At a joint news conference with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Bush said Zarqawi's whole ambition was to stop the spread of democracy in Iraq and sow sectarian strife.
''Removing Zarqawi is a major blow to al Qaeda. It's not going to end the war, it's certainly not going to end the violence, but it's going to help a lot,'' Bush said.
He also said said he would like to see US troops out of Iraq as soon as possible, but that would depend on victory in Iraq.
