BJP alleges scam in MCD's Health Department

New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) An audit report of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) exposes a Rs 18 crore scam in the MCD's Health Department, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) state unit said today, demanding a judicial enquiry into the matter.

According to Delhi unit BJP chief Harsh Vardhan, 127 persons gained employment in the department on forged appointment letters and claimed lakhs of rupees as salary.

In a statement, he also claimed corruption in the installation of diesel generator sets, incinerators for garbage disposal and in various construction works.

''A flood of bunglings have started with the approach of MCD elections,'' he clarified.
