Azad discusses names for five working groups on Kashmir with Omar
Srinagar, June 9 (UNI) To build consensus on the formation of five working groups, as was agreed during the second Round Table conference chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here last month, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad held a marathon meeting with president of National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah here today.
Mr Azad held more than a two-hour-long meeting with former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at his residence yesterday.
The Chief Minister had started consultation to chalk out the comprehensive agenda of five working groups announced by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the end of the second round table conference held here on May 24-25.
Mr Azad and Mr Omar discussed names of various personalities proposed for the nomination as members of five prestigious working groups.
The meeting also underscored the need to solve all complex issues through consensus and unanimity at appropriate forums constituted by the Prime Minister for this purpose, an official spokesman said.
He said both the leaders agreed that peaceful solution of all complex problems shall help the people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly of the valley, to take a sigh of relief after suffering in the last 16 years.
In the meeting, it was agreed that peace, tranquility and overall massive development are essential for Jammu and Kashmir.
In the meeting, both the leaders expressed their anguish on recent attacks on tourists.
