Uttaranchal Govt signs MoU with RBI for urban co-operative banks
Mumbai, June 8 (UNI) The Government of Uttaranchal has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Reserve Bank of India with regard to urban co-operative banks in their state.
Consequently, a State Level Task Force on Urban Co-operative Banks (TAFCUB) has been constituted for Uttaranchal, a RBI release issued here today said.
Mr J B Bhoria, is the Chairperson of the TAFCUB and Dr Dilbag Singh, Registrar of co-operative banks is its co-chairmans. The other members of the TAFCUB are a nominee of the State Government of Uttaranchal, A K Khound, RBI's Chief General Manager-Urban Banks Department, Central Office, Mumbai as representative of Central Office, K K Sharma, representing the National Federation of Urban Co-operative Banks (NAFCUB), New Delhi and K K Pant, representing the State Urban Banks Federation. The first meeting of the TAFCUB will be held soon, the release added.
Similar MoUs have also been signed with the states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
As part of its developmental role, RBI would also be assessing the training, computerisation needs of the urban co-operative banks in the state of Uttaranchal with the objective of upgrading their human resource skills and technological infrastructure so that they improve their operational efficiency and quality of management information systems, the release said.
