Two killed, five injured in road accidents in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Jun 8 (UNI) Two persons killed and five were seriously injured in two separate accidents in this district of Western Maharashtra today.

Police sources said in one incident a woman identified as Sunanda Datta Patil(38) died, while her daughter Sweta (8) and brother-in-law Ashok Shamrao Patil (21) were seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding jeep near Rajputwadi on Kolhapur-Ratnagiri road late this afternoon.

According to the police, in another incident a man identified as Mayur Manohar Sutar died and three others were injured when their Maruti car rammed into a private tourist bus on Pune-Bangalore national highway.

All the five injured have been admitted at civil hospital here, the police added.
