Bangalore, June 8 (UNI) Karnataka Goods Transporters' Association today condemned the Centre's decision to hike the price of diesel by Rs two per litre and demanded that it withdraw the move immediately.

In a release here, Association Joint Secretary G A Ayub Khan said ''The government is hell bent on destroying the transport sector and blatantly unaware of ramifications of this on national economy.'' Stating that the transport industry was treated with utmost disrespect, he said the industry was frustrated with the frequent revisions in diesel prices.

He said the Association would launch an agitation, if the Centre did not withdraw its move immediately.

The agitators raised slogans against the UPA government at the Centre and its policies.

Members of the Bhagat Singh Yuva Morcha staged a novel protest by taking out a procession in 'Mysore tongas' and cycles.
