Togo's PM comes to Germany help fix pay dispute
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany, June 8 (Reuters) Togo's Prime Minister Edem Kodjo will come to Germany tomorrow to help resolve a pay dispute with their World Cup squad, a Togolese official said today.
The statement contradicts earlier comments that the dispute had already been resolved.
''We will find a solution. It is a question of negotiations,'' the Togolese team's technical director Camelio Akoussah said after a news conference. ''Our prime minister will come tomorrow.'' Togo's players had asked for 155,000 euros each to play in the finals plus an additional 30,000 euros each per win and 15,000 euros per draw.
Togo's spokesman Messan Attolou said earlier this week an agreement short of the team's initial demands had been found.
Togo are scheduled to launch their challenge against South Korea in Frankfurt on June 13. Their other Group G opponents are Switzerland and France.
