SJM passes three resolutions
Jabalpur, June 8 (UNI) The Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) has passed three resolutions related to the country's economy during its recent national executive meet.
The resolutions included demanding the Centre to end relationship with the WTO, declaring farmers' suicides as a national problem and giving priority to employment generating schemes.
SJM national executive member Chandrashekhar Pachouri said the meeting, chaired by national convenor Murlidhar Rao, passed the resolutions.
The first resolution stated the WTO and developed nations had conspired to capture India's market and economy.
It urged the Centre to exercise quantitative control over export of agricultural exports and keeping agriculture out of the WTO purview.
The resolution also demanded declaring farmers' suicide as national problem, providing adequate price for agricultural produce to them and making loans available at maximum four per cent interest.
The resolution demanded the Centre to accord priority to economic policies of the country, rationalising tax structure on petroleum products and binding the FIIs to invest for a minimum of three years besides imposing short-term capital gain tax on profit.
